Gnome Surf Individual Surf Therapy

What is Individual Surf Therapy?

For kids ages 4+ through adulthood. A whimiscal unique approach to surfing.,One on One Lesson for 45min to 1 hour. We focus on aspects of self confidence and positivity. We work on a variety of things from core strength and coordination to self awareness and decision making in a very FUN way. Our goal is to have our athlete believe whole heartedly that they are capable of achieving their every dream and leave our lesson feeling on top of the world. Something magical happens through these intimate, personalized, and individualized sessions and there is proven data that indicates Surf Therapy is an extremely effectively activity added to our athletes current therapeutic regimen.

What about Group Lessons?

For groups of 2-5 athletes. A 1 hour group surf lesson that is guaranteed to give you surfer’s stoke. If you are looking for a fun and therapeutic way to get together with friends, family, and/or colleagues this is the right activity to promote good vibes, positivity, team building and rejuvenation. This is a great option for small groups or organizations, corporate team building, and families.

Who can benefit from Surf Therapy?

At Gnome Surf we are “raising the bar” for surf therapy and establish through evidence-base research that Surfing alleviates symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression and has profound benefits for humans (children, youth, teenagers, adults) dealing with mental or physical challenges.

Where can I find the waiver?

You will be prompted to complete your waiver as part of the registration process within our booking system. Please ensure this is done at least 72 hours prior to your session to participate.

I bought a season pass, why am I being asked to pay again?

Once you book your season pass, you should submit another payment through our booking system. Please contact gnomesurftherapy@gmail.com.

What if I can't make my surf session?

We ask for a 24 hour minimum notice to reschedule a session. You will log into the booking system and reschedule the session yourself. If a cancellation is done within the 24 hours, the booking system will not allow a reschedule.

What about inclement weather?

Surf sessions are subject to cancellation in accordance with official beach closures. If the beach is closed for any reason—including hazardous conditions or public safety concerns—all scheduled surf sessions will be canceled accordingly.

What do I bring to the beach?

Wear swimwear (shorts, rash guard, bathing suit)
Towel
Sunscreen and sunglasses
Your own life jacket and wetsuit (if you have one or need one). We have very limited sizes of both.
Water
Snacks

Do you provide refunds?

We do not provide refunds, but we are happy to apply the amount to a session or camp when available.

I need to reschedule my session.

All reschedules are done through your account in our booking system. Once you have completed your purchase, all bookings and reschedules are done by you.

What if I do not use all my sessions this season?

All session expire at the end of each season. Please ensure you schedule them as soon as you can so they are all used.

I have more than one athlete surfing, do i need a waiver for each athlete?

Yes. A waiver is required for each athlete that participates in an individual session or camp.

Horseneck Beach, South Shore Beach, and Fenway Beach averages (based on prior years):

Where do I go for sessions at South Shore Beach?

This beach is located at 1 South Shore Road in Little Compton, RI. When you enter the beach please give the athlete's name to the gate attendant and drive to the far end of the beach. We are located near the creek at the last lifeguard stand.

Where do I go for sessions at Horseneck Beach?

Directions for 1:1s at Horseneck:

Enter the parking lot and take a right after the parking booth
Continue past the main building, where the bathrooms are (on your left)
Once you get to the Gnome Surf trailer on your left, you will see our reserved parking spots
Park in any of the available spots

Accessing the beach for your 1:1 session from the parking lot:

Walk over the dune near the trailer or enter through the main building and walk down the ramps to the cement path
Once on the beach, take a right on the cement path until you reach the beach access mat on your left
At the beach access mat, take a left and walk towards the water
Take a right at the lifeguard chair and walk past the last lifeguard chair to meet the instructors for your 1:1 session

My session/camp is at Nantasket Beach, where do I go?

This beach is located on 212 Nantasket Ave in Hull, MA. When you enter the beach, please park in the lot and we are located under the pergola (adjacent to the playground).

My session/camp is at Fenway Beach, where do I go?

This beach is located on 4 Wawaloam Rd., Westerly, RI. The instructor will be waiting for you near the beach entrance.

My session/camp is at Jenness Beach, where do I go?

This beach is located on Ocean Blvd in Rye, NH. When you pull into the parking lot please park and walk to the right (when facing the ocean). You will see the Gnome flags and we are set up there.
